KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Senior Operational Consultant performs analysis of business processes and associated process improvement and provides operational mentoring to customers the software.

Support the implementation of solutions using our Implementation Methodology, with focus on business process analysis/improvement and operational mentoring. Specifically, work with operational leaders at terminals to
- Propose alternate business processes and how these can be represented in system.
- Provide domain expertise in the areas of terminal operations throughout the project life cycle.
- Provide recommendations on standard operating procedures, role definition, and structure of the operations department.
- Support terminals at go-live with the use of the software and operational exception handling.
- Propose alternate business processes and how these can be represented in system.

Perform tuning activities to improve productivity and/or efficiency of container terminals.
- Occasionally, support pre-sales activities and support the product management
- Assist with building a growing consulting practice to include practice aids and templates for use at multiple clients.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Business, MIS, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplines.
- 5+ years of experience in operational planning and execution in a container terminal.
- 3+ years of experience in working with terminal software as a user, specifically using modules like Expert Decking, Autostow, and Prime Route.
- 8+ years of experience in working in the shipping business.
- Experience in developing ideas for increasing operational productivity and efficiency.
- Experience in consulting and/or mentoring others in container terminal operations.
- Willing to travel up to 80%.
- Experience in working with IT departments to translate ideas into pragmatic and executable projects.
- Experience in using software tools like MS Excel to analyze data through, e.g., pivot tables, scripts, formulas, etc.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Detail oriented, hardworking and self-motivated.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills in English and Mandarin Chinese.
- Able to work extended hours under tight deadlines.
- Able to multi-task and successfully meet objectives.
OPTIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of Simulation (emulation) techniques to help identify bottlenecks in logistics processes, ideally in the container terminal space.
- Working knowledge of use case modeling and process modeling techniques.
- Project Management experience or certifications.
